How to meet the perfect neighbour: 8-10

4 Jun

We know they say the road to romance is never a smooth one but come on this is just harsh!

So episodes 8-10 were the foundation builders for introducing romance between the OTP and dear oh dear it’s far from pretty.

First we saw Joon Suk confess his interest in Yoon Hee, only for her to literally get up and run away, well not before telling him he must have heat stroke! At least one MusthaveSubs girl has used this tactic of literally running away after such a confession so we completely understand the embarrassment that Yoon Hee must have felt when she had to face him the next day.

We wish this was the worst part about it: Okay so after getting over that cringe inducing moment- he decides to fulfil her lifelong ambition of going to watch a musical in a beautiful outfit with a handsome man just like Pretty Woman.

Yes, we too gathered that her aspirations are a little low in life but we’ll forgive her.

Signs of a bad date:

-So just like Pretty Woman she acted like an uncultured country bumpkin with no sense of social etiquette at all, which drew the attention of practically everyone in the theatre.

-Joon Suk’s ex- girlfriend/ famous actress happened to be there with a smug look on her face, which we wanted to slap off her face!

-As soon as the play finished Joon Suk jumped out of his seat and left without saying a word to Yoon Hee.

-Yoon Hee proceeds to follow in outrageous heels, crying the famous words-
‘wait, let’s go together!’ of course not before breaking her heel and falling over in front of everyone.

-Joon Suk doesn’t help her up, but instead just looks at her in disgust! – Pig.

-He refuses to talk to her on the drive home before abruptly pulling over to the side of the road and telling her he has an appointment to go to so he can’t take her home.

Okay we get it; Joon Suk is a reserved, rich boy with unbelievable poor social skills, so yes we understand that he was probably mortified by her behaviour but he should have acted like a man and at least taken her home before giving her the big freeze and possibly transferring her to another department just so they could both forget that the evening ever happened. Poor Yoon Hee! The girl has ZERO experience in romance, little lone with someone like Joon Suk and so the one time she dared to dream big, she gets her heart crushed, so cruel!

At least she had Soo Chan to help pick up the pieces. Although we weren’t fans of these guys being a OTP, we do adore their friendship together- they share really great banter; funny, charming and at times sweet. Who would have thought that a Gigolo would be such a good confidant, plus he carried her home on his back.

Our favourite line from Soo Chan:

‘Julia Roberts is beautiful, so when she acts like that it looks cute, whereas when you did it, you must have looked disgraceful!’

Also- ‘Stop crying, you look like Shrek!’

The funniest scene in episode 10 had to be Yoon Hee’s mother trying to give her a beating for missing her match making session, so funny on so many levels. The drama is really good at shifting the mood from a really sombre moment with tears and heartache to laugh out loud funny moments usually involving Yoon Hee and Alcohol or Yoon Hee getting a beating from her mother.

Other news:

-How much are we loving Soo Chan’s transformation from care free gigolo to a responsible and caring male. The writers did really well in teaching him a lesson and redeeming his character- he suffered enough for us to care about what happens next to him in the drama. We loved that scene outside the station when the manager told him nothing else matters in life other than your children. It was the sweetest scene of realisation that he now had responsibility to someone other than himself in this life.

-Mi Hee and Duk Gil better get together at the end of this drama! How cute are these two and the best thing about it is, we didn’t see it coming at all!

-Aside from Yoon Hee’s mother, is every other type of parental figure in this drama, totally evil/ screwed up? Yikes Joon Suk’s mother and Hye Mi’s father are NAAASTY! No wonder their children as cold icicles, we would be too, if we grew up in their households.
